If you did not travel anywhere with your family this year, maybe this is the time to start planning for your next family getaway. Have you considered Asia? If you have, then keep reading.
Here are 3 cities that you can consider because not only are they affordable, but they’re great places to spend quality time with your family. They are full of entertainment, rich with history and culture – including great sights – and delicious food for everyone to experience.
Bali
Bali is the perfect getaway if you like warm weather and wonderful beaches. Not only does it have an amazing array of great food for you to try, but the city is filled with plenty of activities for your kids. There are a few places where you can go depending on what you are looking for. Nusa Dua is known for their beach and much quieter in comparison with Kuta, where it can get too rowdy and hectic. Sanur can be an alternative to Nusa Dua if you have young kids as the water is calmer and shallower. Ubud is a great place to go if you are looking for nature and to get more in touch with your spirit.
Singapore
Singapore is a small city and may get expensive at times in comparison with the other Southeast Asian neighbors. However, it is extremely safe and pristine. They have such a great public transport network that it’s so easy to navigate the city on your own. You can visit their innovative architecture the moment you land. Singapore’s Changi Airport is considered as the best airport for six consecutive years since 2013. On the contrary, if you are someone who likes water activities, you can go to Sentosa Island. It’s a man-made theme park and it is so well connected that it is easy to get there. In addition, they have great food for you to experience because of the city’s rich diversity.
Bangkok
Bangkok is such a big, lively and cosmopolitan city that has all sorts of things for everyone to enjoy. If you are looking for culture, you can visit Wat Pho (pronounced “PO”), the temple of the reclining Buddha. While you are there, you can walk another 10 minutes to visit the Grand Palace. This is where the royal family resides and the mourning place of the last King who passed away two years ago. For those of you who like to shop, there are endless stores, weekend markets and even night markets for you to explore. Chatuchak Market is only open on the weekends, so set aside some time to visit it because it’s a ridiculously large market with more than 8,000 market stalls.
Of course there great places, like Shanghai, China, Seoul, South Korea, or Japan. However, if you are looking to leave the cold winter, these are great destinations. Whichever city you decide to visit, I hope that you will have a great and enjoyable time with your family. Always remember: being with your family is the most important thing so even if things do not go your way, do not fret. You are still with your loved ones. Bon voyage!
