We all seek happiness, right? How do we get there, though?
In my opinion, happiness does not need to be defined only by lifetime moments or achievements. It can be very simple things like being grateful every day on little things like your health and your family.
Here are some simple ways how you can be happy on a daily basis:
1. Say Thanks
Before you go to bed every night, close your eyes and say thank you to the universe, angels or the higher being for a wonderful day. Things might not go right all the time but you are still alive and well. This is already something to be thankful for. Once you feel this way, you will realize the important things in life. Living in the moment instead of always overthinking about the past or the future.
2. Spend Quality Time
Never forget to spend quality time with your loved ones. If you have 5 minutes, make it memorable. Let them know that you are sorry that you do not have much time but you do want to spend this time with them and remind them again how much you love them.You show validations and that you care about them, creating a stronger bond with your loved ones.
3. Schedule Something You Love
Make plans to do something that you love. It can be as simple as doing your nails or taking your kids to the lake. Whatever it is, you are responsible for scheduling things that you love love to do. During these busy days, it’s not always simple, but remember tip no. 2 and the importance of quality time. Do not let time pass you by without doing at least one thing a week that you really love.
4. Think Back On Your Week
Appreciate your week for how it passed. We can be quick to jump to conclusions that it didn’t go as we planned or it could have been better. Sometimes it was supposed to be like that so instead of being dissatisfied, think positively. Ask yourself questions like “Was there anyone that helped me along?” and say your silent thanks to them or “Did I at least do something I like this week?” Look back at tip no 3:see how important it is to make the time to do something you love at least once a week.
5. Close Your Eyes And Just Breathe For One Minute
Do nothing for that one full minute. Take a breather. Pay attention to your breathing and your body. Are any parts of your body sore or need attention?Have you forgotten any important errand this week? Is there someone you need to get in touch? It’s important to remain aware of yourself, your surroundings and your life, so you can learn to see the good things that happened to you.
If you think about it, just like love, happiness is all around us. It can be very simple and basic things that we already have, like a roof over our head, our family, our health and our job. Whichever it is, you can always be happy. It’s also a conscious choice to focus on your happiness, on this moment right now. Basically, happiness is something you make yourself. And you have full control of it.
