We hear many times phrases like these, “Just follow your instinct”, or “What does your gut tell you?” when we ask our close friends for advice. When we are faced with complicated issues or decisions, sometimes we find the process of rational thinking can be inadequate. We also want those good feelings swarming around our heart and body to fully know it was the right decision. That’s when paying close attention to our gut will shed some light.
What is “gut instinct”?
This is when you can ‘just feel’ when something is wrong, or when it’s not a good idea to walk that alley at night. It is one of those unexplainable and unquantifiable things that are within us. Some people call it energy, frequency, wavelengths, or vibe. When someone asks for a valid reason, don’t we just get stumped coming up with reasons? Most times, we just reply with “I just had the feeling”.
Your Body, Mind and Spirit as One
When these three elements join together, they help in raising our awareness of a situation and make our judgment clearer. Sometimes, you may feel a rush of opposing feelings all coming at once: Excitement with a dose of nervousness, or confidence with a slight pinch of self-doubt. This can arise if you are in the middle of a tough decision-making process and unsure of what to do. It’s perfectly normal. Fortunately, there are times that it can be quite clear and it is trying to show you the way forward. You would know this when one feeling is more apparent, this is when your intuition is trying to tell you if it is a good idea or not. However, at times, your instinct can be clouded with fear and anxiety that you are unable to tell the difference. Check out this article to know when you should trust your instinct.
I still think that my gut instincts are a kind nudge from my guardian angel telling me certain things. It might be quite subtle most times but on rare occasions, it can also be very noticeable. When these instincts show up, I sit up and pay attention because I know it is an important message. I close my eyes, focus my breathing and take notice what comes up for me. Usually, it will shed more light on a specific matter at hand when I better analyze the signals.
So the next time you are in a difficult circumstance, see and hear what your intuition is trying to tell you. Breathe, close your eyes and ask for its wisdom.
