Ladies, let’s take a moment and schedule that much needed “alone time”. We cater to everyone except ourselves, and now is the time for you to treat and pamper yourself. Make some time just for yourself and try your best to stick with this time. You are important and deserve it.
What’s first? Definitely no office work, no housework and no errand work. Just you and your inner child. If it’s ice cream and stroll in the park, do it. If it’s reading a book and being immersed completely, read on. You can come up with your own list. Here are some suggestions to get you thinking.
5 tips to pamper yourself
Some people find that yoga or meditation help them relax and be more present. Take some time to breathe and be centered. Some people may enjoy light physical activities like walking, cycling, or hiking. For me, it’s a combination of 10 minute breathing exercises where I close my eyes, let all my thoughts and voices flow through me impartially without any judgement, and I just completely take in the quietness and stillness. This instantly grounds me and makes me feel more aware.
2. Get more sleep
If you have been sleep-deprived for a while, it’s time to take care of that. Get some quality sleep so you are not always operating on a 50% battery. Your sleep-deprived state will not be good for anyone. Not for you or your family. Give yourself the time to recuperate. Shut down those blinds, get cozy with a book, audiobook, or your choice of sleep music. Earplugs may help you sleep even better.
3. Groom yourself
Time for a haircut or facial? A great haircut can really make a difference. Why not pamper yourself this time. Book an appointment with your stylist and schedule some time to get that new hairstyle you’ve been meaning to. Or perhaps that mico dermabrasion facial that you have been putting off.
4. Satisfy your cravings
If you have been looking forward to trying out the new Japanese restaurant that people been raving about, it’s time for you to see what they are all about. Or, if you have been wanting to try that Blackout Chocolate Cake, go ahead and treat yourself to some sugar. I just recently tried the new Haagen Dazs, Vanilla Blackberry Trio Crispy Layers ice cream, and it deliciously satisfied my own cravings.
5. Happy activities
Going out on your own to the movies or the museum is an example of quality time for yourself. Go out and get caught up with the world’s culture, history, or whatever else that gets your senses going. Maybe join a book club, make use of your library card, go exploring in a big bookstore, or anything else you like.
There are many aspects to life. While we may get caught up in the social side of life, focusing on maintaining a perfect diet, and receiving all sorts of pressures, it is important to find encouragement from within. Take some time to refresh yourself. Do what you want for yourself and not for anyone else. It’s your life and you deserve to be selfish sometimes. Enjoy your life!
