When I think about the things I have and haven’t done, I believe there is a lot that I have done whether it was on my bucket list or not. For instance, I’ve been out of the US, twice. I have seen three of the world’s oceans. Been able to taste both east coast and west coast living. Started two businesses on my own. Found the courage to leave a toxic work situation. Plus, perhaps the most important to me of all, I created two humans and a wonderful life with my best friend.
Are the bad times? Heck Yes. But they were worth it.
Were all the above things glamorous at all times? No, not all. But it’s all about perspective.
And are there things that I still want to do? Abso-freaking-lutely! Because I know there is so much more out there. And I want to see it.
Dear Universe, Here is My Bucket List
I dream of seeing Europe, to walk around Paris, drink my way through London and see and eat all that Italy has to offer. And I think one day I will get to.
I want to try something that I have always wanted to attempt, but been too scared. Whatever that may be, and however many times I have to do it.
My hope is that I get to watch my gorgeous children become the amazing adult humans I know they will be.
There are visions of traveling with my husband across the country photographing all that we see dance through my brain.
To give myself a gift of the most luxurious item I can think of. Whatever it may be at the moment.
Take a tropical vacation where I can stay in a hut in a beautiful clear, blue water and take a nap on the deck in a hammock.
Write a book.
Learn another language — one that I can’t stop listening to and want to speak because I love it so much.
I want to take all the blessings that I have been given and bestow them upon someone else who needs them.
I become the best possible version of myself and live my truth every day.
Disclaimer: This bucket list is subject to change at any time.
Yes I Can, and You Can Too
When I look at this list, it feels like there isn’t a reason why I couldn’t do any of the things on it. Sure, money is a big factor in some of them. But I have made other scenarios work. I do know that accomplishing my bucket list items may not look like I think they should right now. Most importantly I also know that it even if isn’t as great as I thought it would be, it’s still worth it.
And the even better thing is, it could be even better than it looked in my mind.
So to myself, I promise to do the things I can to start putting check marks to the items on this list.
