In my other article this week, I wrote about the different kinds of lash extensions. I thought I would write another post on the concept of extensions, but this time…for your hair! Like eyelashes, there are many options when it comes to hair extensions.
Check out these types of hair extensions so you can get a sense of what might work the best
This is a great investment if you don’t want to keep spending a ton of money on hair extensions. Purchase extensions that you can take off and put back on. The most popular method of this is clip-in, where you hide the extension under other pieces of your hair. You are able to take this off at the end of the day and hang it up so it won’t get tangled. There are also weaves you can have added, which is when longer pieces of hair are added.
These are exactly what they sound like: semi-permanent. These will last up to 8 weeks and then you need to get them changed out again. This involved a tape-in process, where small hair sections are literally taped into your hair. There is now even an invisible tape extension that is barely noticeable. This is a good option for someone who doesn’t want to take off their fake hair every night, but can be costly to keep having them put in every few weeks.
These can be worn for many months at a time. This process involves actually adding tiny strands into your hair that are held on by micro rings. These hold the added hair in place and prevent the new hair from falling out. You can also re-fit the same hair multiple times by using the micro rings. This option is the most expensive due to time to fit and apply the extensions.
